So dk and I travelled far too much this week, but we did get a couple of nice presents along the way…
The winner, hands down, is this clock made from a record album. From a Stevie Wonder 45, no less! And it came with a set of spiffy coasters made from albums, hand-picked for us. Thanks CPG!

We also got some pretty cool music note paper clips. Thanks PHP!
And, as my grandmother used to say around noon every December 25th – Christmas is now further away than ever! Happy New Year!

It kinda bothers me that vinyl was killed to make these items….

Actually, these albums were thrashed before they were put to this use.
The coasters are made of the center of albums that would be unplayable under any circumstances, and the back side of the 45 used for the clock is scratched up pretty good. I think the idea behind this was to give old records a second life and keep them out of landfill.
But I’m with you on the spirit of your comment. Records are meant to be played, not used as drink-holders!
For the full story on this stuff, google “vinylux”…

Glad you liked them. And you’re welcome!
Did you both make it away without being infected by ‘allergies’? I certainly was. There was a bit of a delay, but I’ve been sick since the 30th or so. Hope you’re well!

i have been meaning to get you guys some of this vinylux stuff for a year or two. it was a given that you two would find it on your own. the snack bowl is another choice creation. (you should also see the building blocks they make using colorful 8-track-tapes.)
