Go Ducks!

I grew up in the Eugene area, and went to plenty of University of Oregon football games as a kid. I attended the UofO from 1987 to 1992 and have been a lifelong Duck fan. The ass whuppin’ we laid on Michigan today was one of the most enjoyable games I’ve watched in my entire time as a fan…

  2. Arlo Chingaderas Says:

    Congrats on the stomping, Bro…
    That was pretty magnificent…

  3. Jimbo Says:

Good day to be a Duck! Love that music. All we need are a few spunky, young cheerleaders to go with it!

See you at the Ducks v. Bears game. Woo-hooo!

    Also, go Ducks baseball.

  4. HB Says:

i was thinking about you while watching the ass kicking and loved every minute of it.
i pick ‘em to upset USC athough i hold out hope for my Bruins

  5. Ducky Foo Says:

John Canzano of the Oregonian wrote that Michigan brought 3 top recruits to the game and they hung out afterwards around the visitor’s locker room and told a reporter “I want to go to Oregon”. A local (Detroit-area) coach reportedly gave his card to a U of O coach and said “I’ve got a lot of players”. It wasn’t like this as a Duck fan in the 1980′s.

I would put two wins ahead of this: The 2002 Fiesta Bowl vs. Colorado and the 1994 UW, Kenny Wheaton pick.

  6. Dan Krewson Sr. Says:

I sat through lots of Duck games with you where the ass whipping wasn’t as much fun!! Hope they can keep it going – Sure makes for fun Saturdays!!!

  7. Jonesy Says:

It’s easy to get carried away after what appears to be an amazingly dominant performance. But remember the Ducks squandered a few scoring opportunities that could have popped the score up to 57-7. Really a dissatisfying performance by the Ducks offense. The Ducks came up short in other ways too: they had the second highest yardage total for a Michigan opponent in Michigan’s 128 year football program history… it’s a bitter pill finishing second in anything; we committed our first turnover; missed a 49 yard field goal; Stewart had 0 kickoff returns for touchdowns (and in his defense how the hell is he supposed to if we don’t get him more more kickoff return opportunities!); and finally the defense allowed Michigan to get on the scoreboard. If Bellotti doesn’t tighten up his program and fast, it’s going to be a long ass season, but of course we Duck fans are used to misery.

Fresno State is going to be a tough match-up. Pat Hill is one bad mfer, and his team will be ready for us after nearly knocking off Texas A&M. Last five games in the series have been decided by 7 points or less.
The defense will have to continue to come up with big turnovers. I’m hoping Allioti will switch from the current “Bend, but don’t break” philosophy to a “Don’t bend, Don’t break, No Buts” strategy.
On offense Dixon will have to perfect his long ball tosses. Our receivers shouldn’t have to waste precious micro seconds looking up for the ball. Run straight down the field. Put your hands straight out in front of you, and the damn ball better be there. Come on Dixon, this is College Football son, NOT BASEBALL!
And for God’s sake if we get the ball at the 1 yard line…I can’t believe I’m about to say this…Blast it up the middle to the running back, every down if necessary.

    Good News!
Karmic blow-out victory in the Cards for the Ducks.

Rumsfeld has just joined Stanford University’s Hoover Institute think-tank, and that should be enough bad Karma in Palo Alto to steer Stanford to a record 69 point loss to the Ducks. First year coach Jim Harbaugh (Michigan alum) will be forced to resign after just 3 games, due to a failed football defense policy.

Look forward to seeing some of you all at the Cal game. Hopefully we will have improved by then.

—–Breaking news– Nathan Costa will be playing centerfield for the Eugene Pepsi-Challengers next summer.

  8. Anxiety Disorder Foo Says:

pardon me while I drive over to Jonesy’s house to give him some of my Xanax.

  9. dkpresents Says:

Nobody’s ever accused Jonesy of taking the Ducks too lightly.

Three names I was disappointed to not see in his rant:

    1) Terry Obie
    2) Bill Musgrave
    3) Rick Neuheisel

Now if we can just get Rumsfeld to suit up for the Cardinal…

  10. Ducky Retro Foo Says:

    …and:

    1) Choo Choo Young
    2) Kevin Willhite
    3) Bob Brothers

  11. dkpresents Says:

Of course, we can’t leave out:

    1) Reggie Ogburn
    2) Josh Wilcox
    3) Wesley Mallard

  12. Ducky Retro Foo Says:

    and:

    1) Christian McLemore
    2) Igor Olshansky
    3) Lew Barnes
